Everybody Walk The Dinosaur!

Hello everyone!!

Long time, no post - I know. I took a little mental vacation.. I have still been doing my nails and photographing them, but the idea of uploading, editing, and preparing posts just sounded like a nightmare. Yes, I know, in the grand scheme of things, it really is not a lot of work, but to my mental state, it just seemed like too much. I apologize.

I am starting to feel recharged, and good 'mentally' (I realize this makes me sound like I am really out to lunch/a space case, but I promise it is just health related and that it just affects my moods. I am not depressed or bipolar or anything else.)

Funny that the things that spurred me to post was snapping off my long ass nails yesterday. Ok, one snapped off, the others I just clipped down. My post for today will feature my newly shortened nails, and then my next few posts will feature my long bad boys that I had for quite awhile. Admittedly, I missed short nails. So much easier!

I was looking for inspiration earlier, and one group of gals gave me a bunch - I was just getting some supplies ready to do something else, when I saw my dino nail decals and completely changed what I wanted to do.

I found the base photo HERE and just.. went from there!

I used:
  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • China Glaze Violet-Vibes
  • China Glaze Glow With The Flow
  • China Glaze Treble Maker
  • China Glaze Daisy Know My Name?
  • China Glaze Home Sweet House Music
  • China Glaze DJ Blew My Mind
  • MakeItStick Dinosaur Nail Vinyls
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I honestly used two triceratops decals, as those are my favourite dinos, but I got to say that the pterodactyl and t-rex decals are killing it with the background!

That is all for today. Happy to be back. I am hoping to post 1-2x a week, mayhaps more, mayhaps less, but I am back.. well.. I was always still present and doing nails, just not sharing them. Fail.

Take care until next time!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
