GLADvent Calendar Countdown + 600th Post

Hey everyone!

First off, this is my 600th post.. where does the time go?! I feel like I was just writing my first post a few days ago (we will not discuss the amount of years, thanks!)

Thanks for sticking around, or just popping in quick to see a post here and there. Even bigger thanks for following me on instagram or facebook.. or even twitter -- all of those fun links are on the side. (Shameless plug, I am sorry!)

BUT! My 600th post is not why we are here today. No, I am here to discuss my opening of the GLADvent calendar from Cuter Cuticles.

I have this amazing box..

...filled with numbered packets to be opened every day for a period of 24 days - just like an Advent Calendar. Now, I was never too keen on those gems growing up, but this is one I can get behind. Sammy makes some of my favourite nail care items, so this is going to be fun! (I have another advent-type box coming probably this week, we shall discuss that one when it gets here.. it is a combo from another one of my favourite nail care gals.. the excitement is real!)

Sadly, she only made a limited quality of these boxes, and I was lucky to snag one. With that being said, I figured I would share the open-age in case you would be interested in getting one next year.. which, let's be honest, who wouldn't?!

Now, I won't be blogging every day about what I open - but I will be posting it on instagram (you can scope me out HERE).. but, I will post a weekly update on Saturdays - so look out for my first post on December 5th!

Just because you cannot get one of these boxes does not mean you miss out on all of the action! You can visit her store HERE and pick up some amazing goodies anytime.. I mean, I did just place an order on Friday.. so.. there is that. I would highly recommend some cuticles oil and barrier butter. Tres amazing!

All right.. that is it for today, so I will probably see you guys at some point this week. I have basically a small army of nail polish to try for the first time to my right.. with a wealth more on the way. I best get cracking! And if I don't see you through the week, I will have that post for Saturday. That I can promise!

Hope you all had a swell weekend and will have a magical start to your week. See you!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
