HoHoHoliday Box by Mrs. P's Potions & Soak It!

Hey everyone!

Just a quick post to share with you another holiday type advent box I literally received in the mail this afternoon (I know.. mail delivered on a Sunday?! Win!)

I was so excited to get my mitts on one of these boxes during the sale.. I believe there were 20 or 24 created.. so.. again, the excitement is real!!

The opening started today, the 13th, and will continue until Christmas.

I am super stoked about this because I already love all the products from Tara, who runs Soak It! and I was pumped to try items from Bree, who runs Mrs. P's Products (have always heard rad things, just never gave it a go!)

Shall we get on to the overview of the package and day 1?!

Now.. the package it arrived in was beautifully wrapped - but I was a complete savage and tore in to it immediately.
Ok.. so.. can I just say that I am loving that each day is individually wrapped - and so nicely, at that. Like.. I feel so magical just looking at these. The time and effort is clearly there, and I appreciate it soo much!! Also, my name is spelled correctly on the card. I know, people can say 'well, it is there for them when you order' - tell that to the numerous times I had to send official cards in for the correct spelling of my name - it does mean a lot to me. Just. Saying!

And here is day 1.. er.. 13! I added in the sweet card that was included.. because.. a reindeer in sunglasses? He is my new favourite person.

AND day 1.. 13.. whatever - totally knocks it out of the park. This is a polish that I have heard rad things about previously, and now I have a bottle of my own. This is Mrs. P's Potions in What The Falir?! It is a holographic topcoat.. and I am just.. ahh! Cannot wait to use it. Also, this day includes a little note/poem/ It reads:

It's the first day of Christmas, you want to look good while you shop
When you get to the mall, you want their jaws to drop!
You want to be festive, want your nails to stop traffic
Enjoy this What The Flair?! topcoat, HELLOOOOOO HOLOGRAPHIC!!!

I am seriously hoping that every day will have a little note.

Again, this is some serious effort and just.. it makes my heart smile. I am so excited for the rest of the days!

I think I will dedicate a post daily to this one.. as it is just from now until the 25th. I think I can manage that. Right?!

Wish me luck! And see you tomorrow!

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!
