For Ben

Hey everyone!

So, a couple of weeks back, whilst I was extremely sick (ok, laryngitis, so I didn't feel the worse, I just had no voice, a super sore throat, and painful coughing fits), I was working my way through the complete set of Sex & The City during my time off from work. One of the afternoons, when I was feeling particularly sorry for myself, I decided that I would go get Ben from his cage and make him watch copious amounts of episodes with me.

The only problem was.. Ben had passed away :(

The pain was so real. I think that when you have any type of pet that has been around you for years, and years, and years, it hurts so bad. Even if the pet isn't a conventional one. And even though Ben is like.. the size of a dog paw, the pain was immense.

The next day, I was starting to feel a smidge better health-wise and had returned to work.. so that evening I decided to do some nail art. The nails were just.. perfect.. but I felt like something was missing - so I added a shiny-glittery 'B' that I knew Ben would approve of.

I used:
  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • Essie Off Tropic
  • Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
  • Saran Wrap
  • OPI My Favorite Ornament
  • Small Brush
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

And just in case any one forgot about how handsome Ben was, here is your reminder.

That is all for today! Hope you all have a rad day, and be sure to give your pets an extra snuggle today!!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
