Formula X The Match CLIX! Swatch Post

Hey everyone!

Last weekend, as I bopped in to Sephora to nab some retexurizing pads I was out of, I took a quick peruse of the store, as one does - but my pal that I was with had strict instructions to keep me fairly focused (that, and we had a movie starting in like.. 30 mins)

Anyways! In the back of my mind, I was also wanting a 'nude' polish because of an image I had saved from IG. Took a look at these Formula X The Match CLIX! in 'Fair/Light' and quickly made my way to the till.

My plan was to immediately swatch all of them and just post them.. but I used the blue first, was obsessed and wanted to wear it as a full mani with an accent nail - so I did the rest of my swatches with an accent nail as well - two birds, meet one stone.. all of these accent nail polishes that I used we in my untried rack. Seriously, winning.

The four colours in the set were designed to complement the skin tones specified - and I think they did an exceptional job with the fair/light shades. I felt all of these did really compliment my skin tone and would be extremely wearable all on their own.

First up, we have the grey polish, which is called Extraordinary (whenever I see that word, I think of that saying: "the only thing separating ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra" - I feel like I just think of the film Waiting.. anyways..) - the grey is exquisite, the formula is amazing, which I do expect with all Formula X polish. I have not come across one that has sucked yet! I paired it with Mrs. P's Potions Santa's Pants on Fire (Limited Edition) polish.

Next is the pink polish, and it is called Intensity. What can I really say about this one? It is a pretty pale pink - plays well with my pink undertones - I quite like it! I paired it with GOSH Girls On Film polish that I picked up a couple of weeks ago from Shoppers.

If I wasn't so obsessed with the blue polish, this nude shade would be my favourite. I have never been a fan of nude polish on me - but this one I do like. I will be using it again for the recreation of that IG mani soon. But, for now, this beautiful nude, called Invincible, was paired with Dollish Polish You Guys Give Up? Or Are You Thirsty For More? I looooove this combo!

Ahhh finally.. my personal fave from the collection - this blue.. just.. glows against my skin tone! OBSESSED!!! This gem is called Provocative, and I paired it with Mrs. P's Potions Drop The Ball (limited edition) - such a good pairing. I did get muchos compliments on these when I wore it as a full mani.

My verdict on this little set - I am sure there are many polish out there that would match these polish shades, but, this is an adorable little set and they all click together and don't take up a lot of space. I would say nab one for yourself.. especially if you are a polish enthusiast.

That is all for today -- see you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
