LadyQueen Water Decals - Feathers

Hey everyone!

Today I have some water decal nail art to share with you!

LadyQueen got in touch with me again, and asked if I would be interested in picking out some water decals, and giving them a go - which of course I said 'yes' to!

I got 3 sets (you'll see the others later on..) - and decided to use the dark purple feathers first. (you can scope out the set HERE).

I started off with a base of OPI You're Such a Budapest, and then applied the decals.

My only complaint..

They all go on backwards.

Like, after you soak them in some water, and apply to your nail, and sponge the backside, you take away the paper backing, and you are left with an upside down decal - but thankfully I just quickly manipulate them with tweezers, grab hold, flip them, then put them in place! It is an extra step, and one you have to be fairly quick about - but they do work. I will have to see if the others do that as well. Because, if I am going to use something else to do nail art (ie: decals, stickers, vinyls, etc) I expect it to cut down on the extra work.. otherwise I'd rather just do it all by hand, honestly.

The plus side.. they do look really nice - though they do not last. This was after 13 hours of wear time, and if you look at my index finger, some of the decal is already gone.

For the extra work in having you flip every decal over, it isn't really worth it wear-time-wise. But, if I had some event to go to, where I only wanted my nail art to last for that particular event, I would rock these again.

I used:
  • China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
  • OPI You're Such a Budpest
  • LadyQueen Decals
  • Tweezers
  • Sponge
  • H2O
  • Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

That is all for today. See you all again soon!

Dry Marble Technique

Hey everyone! Yes.. Dry marble technique.. well.. technically I am water marbling, but allowing the polish to "dry" on the water.. then using it as a nail decal. Does that sound confusing? It might. But. I think this will be my next video. It is actually a lot of fun to do. And while I think this first attempt is grand, it could be better. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Sally Hansen  Babe Blue Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow Water Dotting Tool Bowl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I will probably film a video for this within the next week - so I will post up that gem soon. Or, there are probably a wealth online for you to look up in the mean time. Super fun technique without all the hassle of legit water marbling. See you all again soon!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Splatter Floral Nails

Hey everyone! Last night, after I did these nails and when I went to bed - I was quite pleased with my nails. When I woke up this morning, though, I wasn't overly crazy about them. I thought of a few things I could change so that I would really like them.. I am very tempted to take how I want them to look and recreate them before work.. I might just have to do it. Anyways! Really, there is nothing wrong with them.. I just sort of find them.. boring? Ah well! I used: Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze White On White OPI My Favourite Ornament China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Sweet Hook OPI Mod About You Formula X For Sephora Infatuated Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I made the roses with a "main" colour and white, then I did the details with the "main" colour and black mixed together. Again, I don't dislike these bad boys.. I am just not amazed by them! Also.. did you
