Countdown To Halloween 2016 - 3 Days

Hey everyone! Today some nice, cheerful candycorn nails. I had a friend tag me in these.. and figured I should do them up! THIS is where I got the idea from - my pieces just happen to be a little larger. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Orly Liquid Vinyl Sally Hansen Sun Kissed China Glaze Lemon Fizz OPI Alpine Snow Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for today - see you again tomorrow!

Countdown To Halloween 2016 - 4 Days

Hey everyone! I am sure you all know by now I am ok with sharing nail art disasters, and I feel like this one is an all around disaster. The idea is rad.. I just didn't execute any of it very well. I love creepy trees.. and I figured using a grey base and layering it over with a jelly polish would add depth.. and I figured I was decent at making tree-like shapes.. eh. If you want to see these done really well, visit CoyaRose on IG & in particular, THIS photo. Also, something else that completely failed. I used some glow polish to make glowing eyes on the nails.. notice there is no photo showing that? It didn't work. Fails all around. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Orly Mirror Mirror OPI Don't Touch My Tutu Orly Liquid Vinyl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat See you all again tomorrow!

Countdown To Halloween 2016 - 5 Days

Hey everyone! The mani for today might just be one that I have had the most fun with in a long while. I absolutely loved making this one happen. So fun! They are these bubbly-mutating-grossly awesome nails. I will include the photo that inspired me - I would direct link, but when I zoom in, it distorts the watermark - so if anyone knows who did this - please let me know!! I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat China Glaze Westside Warrior Color Club Je Ne Sais Quois Pearl Rhinestones Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat So, paint your base, then attach any type of rhinestones you have on hand, then dab your polish over it. For a little extra definition, I applied a mustard polish, then tossed on some top coat - particularly over the stones. LOVE!

Countdown To Halloween 2016 - 6 Days

Hey everyone! So maybe bloody Halloween-y nails aren't your thing (....wut....) I get it (I don't) but I do (really). You want to be manified for Halloween, but you're.. girly.. you're glam.. I got it! Glam Blood Drips! I saw THIS photo posted by Funkifiednails and figured it would be a perfect 'girly' addition for the countdown to Halloween. This is great because you can switch up your colour combo for this - but for the 'glam' factor, definitely go with a glitter polish for the drips. Or, reverse it, and have glitter background and black drips.. you know what, do whatever you want for drips. It will look stellar no matter what. After I went with a similar colour combo, I thought about doing a nice nude base with red glittery drips. If I have some spare time, I might do that and insert the photos here as well. Anyways, I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI My Vampire Is Buff OPI My Favorite Ornament (favourite is n

Countdown To Halloween 2016 - 7 Days

Hey everyone! I am not going to pretend I am not amped for this time of year. It really is the most wonderful time! I am again doing a countdown to my favourite day with fun nail art that you could recreate from my recreations and sport on Halloween. Yup! I obviously need to kick this off with a bang, and when I saw these, I literally 'yasssssssssssssssssssss'ed at my computer. True story. I saw THIS PHOTO on pinterest, and then tracked them down on Armstrongnail's IG . Obsessed! And my take.. My sole mission was to make the wounds look as gnarly and gooey as possible (when I sent my sister some behind the scenes photos, she liked the original look.. but I literally told her I opted to make them 'gooier' - legit scientific term) Anytime I can destroy my polished nails to make wounds is a great day to me! Countdown To Halloween 2016

Hey everyone.. So.. like I have done in the past, there will be a Countdown To Halloween with nail art posts. I have scoured the web and found nails that I desperately wanted to recreate. And, they were geared toward Halloween! Yay! I love Halloween, I love the decor, the gore, the films, just everything. Lots of fun! I shall leave you with my teaser photo.. and with a sidenote: There might be an extra day now - there was just too much I wanted to do.. I know it says starts on the 25th, but I will probably be seeing you on the 24th. See you.. soon.

Autumnal Chevron Drip Nails

Hey everyone! Ok. First. I have to talk about this amazing polish colour. A few days ago, I died over MyNailsDid's post of Barry M Mustard.. and I instantly wanted that polish.. or a mustard polish. It had to happen. She offered to try and hunt down a bottle whilst on her vacation (which I almost took her up on) - but then she mentioned that she thought Color Club Je Ne Sais Quoi should be similar. An order to nailpolishcanada.com went in almost immediately. I am obsessed with this colour. Does it really compliment my skintone? Not sure. Do I care? No. With that order, I did snag some of the Essie Fall collection.. so.. why not put them all to use? And follow some nails by ChalkBoardNails ?  I. LOVE. THESE! They basically scream autumn.. while also screaming heinous, but wearable sweater, with a touch of badassery because of the drips. I should honestly get a job describing photos. These took a bit of time as the chevron is just done by hand.. but hey.. worth

Girly Bloody Nails

Hey everyone! So, my sister tagged me in a photo on IG earlier and requested that I do those nails.. which was perfect timing as I have this mustard coloured sweater to wear for Thankskilling supper tonight.. and I had mustard-y nails (that post will be up probably tomorrow..) ..I know there was a purpose of this story. Anyways. THIS was the image she tagged me in, then it took me HERE and eventually HERE . So.. here is my take. Two things I would change upon looking at the images: 1. Do more of the rose technique that I like to use when I do floral nails. There just isn't enough definition - especially on the thumb where it is more visible, & 2. Use a red that I would normally use for the splatter - I feel this one left a pink cast on some of the nails when I applied top coat. Ah well. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI Alpine Snow Orly Liquid Vinyl Essie Madison Ave-hue Essie Minimilistic OPI Gargantuan Green Grape OPI Cinnamon Sweet

Party In The Hills

Hey everyone! Phewwww! After all the danger, excellence, and excitement from the 31 Day Challenge, I am not going to lie, I am a little burnt out. Top that off with just.. a rough life-patch, well, it just leaves this nail art enthusiast less-than enthused. I did do a couple of swatch photos for some polish that I had been admiring from afar, so I will share those. And I do have a couple more coming my way. But. Despite having naked nails at work today, I did paint a full set.. but.. you won't see those for awhile. I am.. working. On something. I mean, I am sure it is guessable, but hey. Act surprised. A few weeks back, I spotted some swatches of Orly Party In The Hills, and not only is it gorgeous, but it reminds me of this polish that a patient wears - and I always mention it.. and it also reminds me of The Weeknd. I am obsessed. It is a thing. His little sassy neck thing in the video for Starboy - I die. Anyways. This.. polish.. is.. amazing! I slapped on a coat

Hey everyone! MADE IT! FIN! DONE!! THE END!!! Today is about honouring nails you love - so I went with a set that I really loved during this challenge process - and I ended up picking these BAD BOYS by Chalkboard Nails. This is one of those times where I thought they looked rad af, they I was watermarking the photos and was like 'ehhhh'. But hey. It counts! I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Formula X White Matter China Glaze S'More Fun China Glaze Sunday Funday Essie Madison Ave-hue Orly Liquid Vinyl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for today - see you tom- wait a tick.. probably not tomorrow. I am le exhausted. But. I have some new polish swatches to share. So I shall do that. Then there is the countdown to Halloween. I got stuff to do yet. So. See you soon!
