About Me

Name: Delainie Gloeden

DOB: 04.04.1986.

Where I call home: Saskatoon, SK, Canada

I don't really know when my love of nail art started.. I vaguely remember starting to want to do more "fun" designs when I was a touch younger, and saving up my babysitting money to buy those crackle polish.. because they were awesome!

Then, when I was in high school, I would paint my nails and sometimes do dots.. nothing major.. it must have really started while I was taking my youth care classes.. more dots and lines, etc. Then, a couple of years ago, I got in to more elaborate designs.. and it hasn't really stopped. I just really like the idea of having "fun" nails - whether it be just painted nails, glitter, full out designs, whatever. Life is too short to not polish your nails. Just saying!

The reason for this blog was to show off what I do (nail art) to a wider audience. I always got really great responses from those I know and from unknowns. I had been looking at photos for ideas and decided I should just start up a blog to have a place to store my own.

I am not personally a creative person. I usually cannot just think up an idea and execute it. I have to see a picture and copy the idea. That is how I have always been. Basically, if I don't have a plan to follow, I will fail.

I love make-up, nail polish, movies, reading, art, hockey and online gaming.
I happily work at a chiropractic clinic.. and most of the patients and my co-workers enjoy my nail art activity!

Some of my favourite things:

Food: I hate a lot of things, and like a lot of things.. but favourite.. ooohhh boy.. ummm.. I really like chicken - you can do so many things with it.. and spicy foods.. and strawberries.. and raspberries.. and pineapple! Oh, and broccoli. And cheese. See.. this could go on forever. And peanut butter - seriously, in a pinch (which I seem to get myself in often because I don't want to actually cook anything) - I just eat a spoonful of PB and my life is better. PIZZA!

Drinks: High quality H2O. I carry a bottle with me everywhere I go. And I love iced tea (Brisk) annnd Mind Over Matcha booster juice. I could survive off of these drinks for the rest of my life.

Movies: I love all movies. Specifically horror flicks. But as for a favourite? Yikes. Well, I can watch 'Pitch Perfect' at any point in time with no complaints. I love it! And the remake of 'The Hills Have Eyes'. And 'Copycat'. Notice how I can never give a simple answer?

TV: Law & Order: SVU, The Killing, Sons of Anarchy, Workaholics, The League, The Walking Dead, Brooklyn 99.. I'm sure there might be a few more, but there are shows that I have either completed watching (in some cases more than once) and enjoy no matter what!

Music: Awe geez. I listen to so many different genres and bands and artists.. ummm.. I dislike country. That makes it a touch easier. I love 80s music. 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' by Simple Minds might be my favourite song, ever. And I really like Fall Out Boy. And dubstep.

Games: Video or board? I like L4D & L4D2.. and The Sims.. and anything zombie related. I'm not great at console games, though I do have an xbox360.. but I'm great at N64 and game played via the computer.. and board games? Life.. and Cards Against Humanity, as well as What Do You Meme?.. because they are hilarious!

Canada Day - Saran Wrap Style

I had said the other day that I would be using the Saran Wrap method again soon.. And I really did mean soon. I figure it was the perfect way to celebrate Canada Day (nail-wise) without over-doing it.. I mean, I'm fairly patriotic as a rule, but sometimes sporting a Maple Leaf on my fingers isn't exactly my style.. ANYways.. See? The love is there with the red and white.. I know I said the next time I did the saran wrap method, I was going to try with three colours.. But, I think I will maybe leave that experiment for tomorrow - today is only about these two colours! So.. How I get to this? Well, allow me to show you. Start off with the colours of your choice - one as the base, and one as your.. distress-er? And some saran/cling wrap. I take two pieces and ball them up.. You could use more or less.. But I figure two hands, two, er, balls. Yikes. After your base has COMPLETELY DRIED (you can do these a couple of hours in advance, the night before, or even use some

Revlon Giveaway

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON!! Yaaaay! I am really excited to do this for all of you! I really appreciate all of you following me and commenting on my posts - it is amazing! So, I figured it was time to give back a bit. Now, this isn't a monster giveaway that I want to do - that will come sometime later. I have it all planned in my mind - BUT - until then, you'll have to put up with this! I picked up 3 polishes from the new Revlon collection the other day and really wanted to grab extras to giveaway, but the store was sold out of one of the colours after I bought it, and so, that thought was quickly squashed. Then, this evening, I ran in to another shop quickly - and they had a whole wealth of them - bingo! Giveaway time! The colours are: Starry Pink, Blue Mosaic & Facets of Fuchsia Supposedly FoF is a DL Bad Romance dupe. Sadly, I do not own that polish (I really, really wish I did) - but this polish is stunning - in fact, they all are! Thi
