Orly Vintage Snowflakes

Hey everyone! I was going for a sort of.. snowflake in the night-sky look that I have sort of done before.. but I just really wanted to use two of my new nail polish - specifically Orly Vintage (which I have wanted for awhile!) I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Orly Liquid Vinyl China Glaze Star Hopping Orly Vintage Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for today! I hope everyone is having a solid holiday season thus far - see you all again soon!

Revlon Galactic Pink

Hey everyone! I have seen a small wealth of posts in FB groups and such on these Revlon holographic polishes.. and I didn't sprint out to buy them.. but I did happen to meander past a display of them the other day. I decided to snap up this pink shade. Kind of glad I did. The formula is suuuper easy to work with, and very buildable - it also dried quite quickly. All wins in my book. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Revlon Galactic Pink Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I am starting to get better at putting on a cuticle lotion or oil instead of picking at the skin/cuticles.. so, I am hoping that my nails will start growing now. Fingers crossed! That is all for today - see you all again soon!

Purple on Purple

Hey everyone! I have to apologize for stopping my Halloween posts - I had two severe nail breaks, and since then.. my nails have been an absolute nightmare. FUN! I don't mind doing nail art on short nails, but my nails are also doing this new thing where they either keep breaking or chip/peel within a few hours. BUT! What I have been doing is going through my collection and just painting my nails. I discovered a shade the other day that I have literally had for 6 years.. never used it.. am obsessed with it.. so, I might as well share those with you for now. Today, though, I did run by Winners and found some real steals. Two of which I am sporting on my nails. I found a Marc Jacobs polish for $5. Five bucks.. seriously?! Zoiks! And this other gem for like.. $2.99 to use on top. Shall we? I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Marc Jacobs Ultraviolet  Mineral Fusion Meteor Shower Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Ok. The Marc Jacobs polish.. I am glad it was

Countdown to Halloween 2017: Cute Ghosts

Hey everyone! Something a little less 'scary' for today.. unless you count how dry my cuticles are.. I will show myself out. Back in 2015, I did a recreation of some nails that TinyTangereines had done.. and I went with that again.. but just full out cute ghosts. And some glam dots.. because, me. Countdown to Halloween 2017: Gross Nails

Hey everyone! Not sure what else to call these.. other than gross.. these are the nails I imagine some sadistic swamp-dwelling mother of mutants to have.. yeah, that. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI Coca-Cola Red China Glaze Cranberry Splash KL Polish Snickerdoodle OPI Suzi - The First Lady of Nails OPI My Vampire Is Buff Orly Liquid Vinyl Sponge Dotting Tool Fake Nails These were rather fun to make.. but dangerous! Who knew breaking up fake nails would make them so sharp! Fun! That is all for today! See you tomorrow!

Countdown to Halloween 2017: Blood Splatter Nails

Hey everyone! As per the last.. few years, I have tried to do a few posts of Halloween-esque nails leading up to my favourite day of the year. This year will be no different. I am going to have 7 manis to share.. starting off with a classic: Blood Splatter Nails. The real scary part of these nails is how hard red stains during clean-up. Marble + Pink Nails

Hey everyone! In theory, these nails were going to be amazing. And, I feel like IRL, they are.. but in the photos I took? Nope. BUT! I will share this one regardless, because, why not? I also apologize for the dryness of my cuticles. Sigh. Blue Leopard Nails

Hey everyone! I know I have the inspiration photo of this saved on my phone (somewhere) - I will get the username/IG account and put it here when I have my phone with me. Ugh. Anyways! Super easy to do, I had to add a smidge of pizazz to my take - of course. Essie Going Guru Marble

Hey everyone! I am pretty sure earlier in the year, I said that marble nails would be my "thing" for the next while.. I feel like that was completely accurate. I always want to marble every colour. Now, no, not water marbling - my arch-nemesis - just diluting white across the nail, and then a stronger, thinner, white stripe  through it. Easy and effective! I was looking at the nail polish still strewn about my desk from the last Shoppers Gala I worked and was like 'oh hello beautiful green polish.. shall we?' And we did. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Essie Going Guru Formula X White Matter Acetone Brushes Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for today -- see you all again soon!

Grunge Marble Nails

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. I know. To be honest, I have just been very uninspired lately. I literally slap on a single colour, and just move on with my life. Let them chip badly. I have just been feeling 'so blah'. Until I saw THESE NAILS by NAILTHOUGHTS and I was like 'those are pretty, allow me to make them.. grunge-y!' I made sure to really drag my brush into the polish once I was done, even with the top coat - I really wanted it to look mooshed together and just.. streaky, and.. grunge-y, and I am very pleased with my results! I know these won't be for everyone, but I LOVE them! Brush Stroke/Square Dots

Hey everyone! Tonight I have some.. square dot nails? Brush stroke nails? I have no idea what to call them - but hey! I did a thing and wanted to share. I took inspiration from Shannon Rae aka Coffeeandnailpolish via IG ( THIS PHOTO ) and just.. went with it. Plus I had to add some pizazz to it.. because, me. After I did 2 coats of my base colour.. I waited until it was dry sort of tacky, and used a brush to just.. place a small swipe of colour. Super technical here. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Lime Crime Milky Ways China Glaze Spontaneous China Glaze Don't Be Shallow Sally Hansen Gilty Party Brush Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for tonight! See you all again soon!!

Rose Quartz Nails

Hey everyone! Ok, so, I have seen, via IG, that the new nail "trend" is rose quartz nails.. so I took a stab at it. Not sure if I totally did it correctly.. but.. I am pretty jazzed about the results! Yay? Nay? It is something you will test out? I went with 2 layers of my main polish, then sponged on some white polish (very lightly), then another layer of main, then some acetoned white, another main layer, then a stronger (but still acetoned) white lines.. I am pretty obsessed. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI It's A Girl! Floral Nails

Hey everyone! These were the nails I sported last weekend - particularly for my best friend's birthday. We did a high tea service, and I specifically went with Funkified Nails post HERE because they reminded me of her. I just finished putting away every stray bottle of nail polish back on to my shelf.. so I cannot remember what all was used here. It was a lot. I am sorry! Love these! They just scream my best friend's name. Also, kind of a side note - I am kind of thinking of starting to post more make-up related activity to my blog as well. It is another major interest of mine.. and I figure I might as well blog about it as well. My goal is to start doing youtube vids, but one step at a time. Hopefully that will be ok. Have a rad day -- see you all again soon!

80s St. Patrick's Day Nails

Hey everyone! So.. I inadvertently created 80s-esque St. Patrick's Day nails. Now, I was going to remove them and try to make something more.. pretty.. but let's be real here: I love the 80s vibe. They get to stay!  I started by doing triangle chunks of colour - based off of a photo from IG. Then.. I was going to add a third colour of chunks, but went with glitter mini-stripes, and dots to top it all off. I just.. yup. Illamasqua Milf

Hey everyone! Around Christmas time, I was in Winners, and found they had 2 bottles of Illamasqua polish. Wait, WHAT?! I legit did the electric slide back to the display of polish and quickly looked at the boxes. $4.99. Um, does Winners have any idea how much I paid to not only purchase an Illamasqua polish a year or two back, but to also ship it to me?! $4.99. I basically destroyed the display (very nicely, though) looking for any others, but there was just the two. One of them happened to be Milf, which is one I had wanted for a while - just didn't want to take the plunge in the purchase/wait to get it to me. The excitement was real. What is even better than that price tag, is the formulation. Dreamy. Amazing. It is real love. I know I did post these on IG, but I know I never posted about them here. So, here they are. KL Polish Brick Sidewalk + Mrs. P's Potions Gold Never Bothered Me Anyway

Hey everyone! I am going to share a suuuuper simple mani featuring KL Polish Brick Sidewalk. I feel like I should do a full review post on KL Polish, but I feel like because they aren't "new" anymore, it would kind of be a waste? It wouldn't be a good review post, anyways. The only saving grace aka the only reason I bother using the polish at all, is that the colours are exquisite. But honestly, that is all I like about them. Huh, mini review right there. Anyways. ALSO - this mani is done using Mrs. P's Potions Gold Never Bothered Me Anyway, and that I do really, really like.  Ugh. That shade. It is so nice! Why can't you just be a nicer formula? And not smell horrible? And the brush not paint my whole finger. Guh. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat KL Polish Brick Sidewalk Mrs. P's Potions Gold Never Bothered Me Anyway Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat That is all for today. See you all again soon!

Multi-coloured Gold Flake-y Goodness

Hey everyone! Ok, this will be the year of marble nails AND gold flake nails for me. I swear. I have to actually physically stop myself from doing something pertaining to either one all the time. Ooh, what if I mixed them together? YAS! All right, that is for another day. Unfortunately, I have no idea what was all used polish-wise to create these gems anymore. It's been a hot minute. I apologize. I do remember just smooshing (legitimate term) the polish with a stamper over white polish, then applying gold flakes. Cannot go wrong. Ok, that is all for today. See you all again soon!

Black Marble (sort of).

Hey everyone! -Insert gratuitous reasoning(s) of why I have been away- Ok, now that that is out of the way, hi! I just realized I still have a couple post photos stocked up. Sigh. I haven't even uploaded all that is currently living on my camera. The fear is real. That is for another day. Mayhaps this weekend. Until then. I think I said it at some point on my blog, but I feel like 2017 is going to be the year that I constantly do faux marble nails. Note: not watermarbling. I have given in to that failed activity far too many times . No, I mean the classy kind of marble. You know. This time, I did it in reverse, because, why not?  It counts, right? Ugh. I love it. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Essie Licorice Formula X White Matter Acetone Brush Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat All right, that is all for today. See you all again soon (I promise).

Baker Street + Gold Flakes

Hey everyone! I feel like 2017 nail art-age will have a wealth of gold flake manis.. and marble manis.. from me.. today is the aforementioned gold flake style. I saw a photo in my IG feed a month (or so) ago, and it was using a solid cobalt blue polish and gold flakes.. and I was like.. Baker Street.. I miss you.. I choose you! I had just freshly chopped off my nails.. and this was honestly the best combo I could have worn. Pure love. I feel like using this polish will always evoke strong love-feelings from me.  I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Nails Inc Baker Street Gold Flake Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Sigh. So gorgeous! That is all for today.. see you all again soon!

Beyond The Nail Shucks!

Hey everyone! So.. bad blogger. I have.. I think 5 posts just waiting to go up.. sigh. Those will be going up in fairly rapid succession.. because.. they should be shared. Duh. Anyways. Tonight I am sharing a wee lemming of mine.. and it was squashed from the swap I was just involved in. Sososososo happy.. I mean, I was going to buy it for myself, but sometimes, when a polish you really want comes from someone else, it just means.. more? I would describe this polish as "glass and glitter sprinkled into your oatmeal". You'll see what I mean. I honestly mean this in the best way possible! I am really obsessed with this polish. Usually nude based polishes do nothing for me, but this one.. I can roll with this. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Beyond The Nail Shucks! My Top 10 of 2016

Hey everyone! I know the whole 'Top 9' of instagram is a thing (I did partake...) but, I also wanted to do my personal top choices of the year. I think one of them matches the IG choices.. kind of neat! In previous years, I think I selected top 'whatever number is higher than the current year' - but that would be 17, and I could barely make it to 10.. so.. 10 it is! Let's take a look at all of them together.. We shall start at the top, and work out way through with links.. http://www.deespolish.com/2016/12/kl-polish-caramello.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/10/countdown-to-halloween-2016-5-days.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/07/dainty-roses.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/09/31dc2016-day-23-inspired-by-movie.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/09/31dc2016-day-27-inspired-by-artwork.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/03/for-ben.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/09/31dc2016-day-9-rainbow.html http://www.deespolish.com/2016/10/autumn
