My Favourites of 2010

Before I post up my 'Happy New Years' mani (aka later in the day..), I figured I would post my favourite manis that I did this year. I made a cap of 10.. These are in no particular order either.. Below the photos, I will post the link to that entry (in case you missed it..) Dotted Ribbon Diagonal Zebra Minty Jade Criss Cross Bowed Blues Old Wallpaper Peachy Pink Coloured Waves Golden Zebra Here I Go Again 5 Point Flowers Those are my choices.. Do you agree? Something that I overlooked? Let me know if you agree or disagree with my 'highlight reel'. I look forward to another amazing year with all of you! I am hoping to have even more entries.. Some with video tutorials - so watch for that as well. Take care and have a ton of FUN ringing in the New Year!!

Bowed Blues

Tuesday nights are usually my 'it's time to get down to business and paint your nails!' night, but, I do have to work the next day (aka today). I worked on filming a tutorial last night. Then, once I was done that and had nothing on my nails again, I felt.. sad? So. I did my nails anyways. And now I'm still upset because they will be ruined today. It is extremely simple, but, in my mind, effective. I apologize in advance because these pictures are probably going to be HUGE! (edit: nevermind, they aren't overly large!) I have to play with my camera size settings so I can get it to where I want. (I know how to do this - I just haven't.. yet.. yeah!) I used two coats of Revlon Royal . I caved. I have seen these polish swatched in so many places! I had to have it! And, I'm happy I do. I love it!! Then, of course, I was bored. I grabbed Adoree Seaport Blue and sponged that on the tips. I should have left it, but I wanted to add something to it. I gra

My Christmas Nails

I finally did some. Took me long enough!! Here are the nails that I have been sporting for Christmas. I got the idea from WAH Nails . I am pretty sure the first way I saw them was with green, but they have a bunch of photos with the candy canes on a gold background. Now, I cannot hear you gasping, but in my mind I can hear it. Why? Well, because of the extreme whiteness of this photo. My dad gave us a bunch of cash for Christmas (he also bought us a blu-ray player AND an xbox, plus the kinect.. it has been an amazing holiday season for us!!) - so, with some of the $$ he gave to moi, I bought myself a new camera. I haven't mastered the settings on it. Which could explain how white my hands are. BUT. I kid you not, that is seriously how pale I am. All. The. Time. NOW! Besides that.. I like the photos I am seeing from this camera. The images are very sharp/crisp and I love that! Oh. Polish used.. CG Jolly Holly, OPI Alpine Snow, Essie Lolipop, CG Liquid Leather and CG

Rose Comforter

Hey everyone! My nails right now totally make me think of a B&B and what I hope they would either have as their comforter/bedspread or wallpaper. Strangely enough, I love it. I feel this photo doesn't quite do it justice, but all of my other snapshots sucked, so this will have to do! I also have to apologize for my cuticles. I have been doing a bunch of baking, cleaning and dishes lately. Despite slathering in cuticle oil and lotion every night, they still look like that! Grr! I figure the cold weather doesn't help things much either. I know my roses are not the greatest, but for my first attempt, I am quite pleased. I chuckled quite a bit over them this afternoon. There I was, clutching an xbox controller, playing UFC, career mode with my awesome figher, with super girly nails. Sigh. Here is what was used: CGs Re-Fresh Mint & Lemon Fizz, Konad Special Nail Polish in White, OPI Shorts Story, CG White Out & Brucci Roberta's Green Garden. Also,

Playing With Goodies

**Important Edit** If you like any of the products I have posted about here OR you have scoped out  Born Pretty and are interested in other products - please feel free to put your order in and get 10% off! Jessica is kind enough to supply my readers with a 10% off coupon code for the rest of this month. It is DEESY10 - happy shopping!! ** This evening, after I returned home from a friends house, I came to the computer desk and looked over at the goodies that had been sent to me. Then, an idea formed. Sure, I don't want to take off my current mani, so why not bust out the fake nails and go to town? Perfect. First, the C/Krackle polish. Love. It. I am actually going to take off my 5 point flower mani tomorrow (after running a bunch of errands) and slap this on. I might even use the same colours. I didn't add the thumb in as it just didn't work. I am not sure if it is because I used a glitter polish or what - but I will work on that! After they were done crackling, I t

5 Point Flowers

Hi everyone! Usually on Tuesday evenings, I am just about becoming desperate to paint my nails. On the weekends, I work, and on Mondays and Tuesdays as well. Not really a problem.. I could still technically have my nails painted.. Except that I am working in the dish pit. So. My nails AND hands are pretty gross. Even though I do my best to try and not let that happen. (I wear gloves with my eczema cream and cuticle cream while reading before bed.. Then I take them off and lather up in lotion.. Still doesn't always work!) So, like I said earlier, come Tuesday evening, I am chomping at the bit to do my nails! Last night was no exception. I perused through my inspiration folder and found something that was perfect because I wanted to play with new toys!! I got the idea from NailArtIdeas on youtube. She has some great ideas. Check them out! The colours used are all OPI: Alpine Snow, Lucky Lucky Lavender & Sapphire In The Snow. Now, this would be the part where I ta

Scribbled Paint

That is what I think about when I see this image plate used.. I was feeling a bit lazy the other day.. That and I had about 30 minutes until it was errand running time.. BUT! I had naked nails. I do not like that. I had Little Drummer Boy still sitting at the desk.. So I slapped on some of that.. Then sprinted to the collection area and nabbed Adore and an image plate. Sorry for the messy photo. I took another photo two days later, but there is some chipping on my index nail. What I am excited about is that I have been working a bit more on the light box. The polish bottle photo is using the improved box. I haven't perfect my camera settings to it yet.. And I am not sure if I like the lamp/light YET, but I don't want to correct things too much to this camera as my Christmas gift to myself will be a new camera. This bad boy is just over 3 years old. He has served his purpose! Oh, the colours used are: CG Little Drummer Boy & CG Adore stamped with konad image plate
