TTDIHALC - Day 31 - Silver

Hey everyone! Today is the prompt of 'silver'. I had a few thoughts.. but then I was like 'duh, mirrorball.' Done. Then I wanted to recreate THIS TAPE MANI , but then I decided to not use tape and just freehand it. Results? Not too shabby. I know.. if I had used tape, it would have been muchos nicer, but sometimes dealing with tape is just not worth it (to me!) I used: China Glaze White on White Orly Mirrorball Little brush Well, that wraps up January for The Totally Doable, I Have a Life Challenge.. I kind of loved it! I did fairly well posting-wise.. instagraming.. no.. but.. baby steps! I look forward to doing more of these this year. Maybe not every month.. or mayhaps.. who knows? We shall see! That is all for today - see you again soon!

TTDIHALC - Day 28 - Match OOTD

Hey everyone! Well.. here it is.. the prompt that actually gives me anxiety! Why? Well.. I am an advocate of making sure I do not do my nails to match my outfits.. which is never really hard, so to make it match, on purpose.. merrr! BUT! I kept my outfit suuuuper simple (which is why I didn't photograph my full outfit (seriously, black leggings, black cardigan, black tank top.. boring!) and made my nails match my scarf.. that I am obsessed with. Ugh. This scarf is my life! I got it fairly recently at Aldo.. I had this one in my mitts, then I spotted another one, and asked my BFF which one.. and she was about to hide them behind her back, I got nervous, and told her to give this one back immediately, haha. It is GINORMOUS and suuuuper warm. I love it. Anyways. I figured.. why not do my nails to match that and toss on some red lips too? Yup, done. Also, can we please see how pale I actually am via my hand? I can add some colour to zee face with contouring/blush.. but my

TTDIHALC - Day 25 - Studs

Hey everyone! For the prompt 'studs', I had a thought cross my mind to somehow paint half naked dudes on my nails, but then I realized that takes a wealth of time and effort when I could just legit use nail studs. So I did that. I didn't go with an extravagant design and studs.. just a simple polish (that I had recently picked up) highlighted with a gold and silver stud. I used: L'Oreal Sexy in Sequins Gold & Silver studs from ebay That is it. Like I said, really simple. This L'Oreal polish was purchased during my hunt for 'Masked Affair', which I then found out would be 'Do Not Disturb' in Canada, which 'Do Not Disturb' turned out to be a complete different polish - so I have this one instead. Good times! See you all again soon for day 28 - match ootd!

TTDIHALC - Day 22 - Fav Design

Hey everyone! Just a quiiiick post for today.. the prompt is fav design. So. Would I go with snakeskin or galaxy? I went galaxy.. esque. I went pastel style, but but cannot really see the galaxy-ness of these nails, but trust me, it is there. I swear. I used: Lime Crime Crema De Limon Lime Crime Once in a Blue Mousse Lime Crime Parfait Day Lime Crime Pastelchio Lime Crime Peaches Heart Cream China Glaze Fairy Dust China Glaze White on White I used a white base, then took all the colours and randomly splotched them on a cosmetic wedge and then sponged them on. Good times. Love these. Love galaxy nails. That is all for today -- see you for day 25 aka studs.

TTDIHALC - Day 20 - Fav Colour

Hey everyone! The prompt for today is 'fav colour', to which I was like 'do I go with my in real life favourite colour or my nail polish favourite colour?' In the end, I went with my in real life favourite colour, which is green, any and all shades. Always makes my brain happy. Then I remembered THIS PIN and was like 'that is exactly what I need to do!' One kind of baby problem came up.. my polish did some very weird activity when sprayed with the alcohol. I don't know if it was because of the polish type I used.. I normally do that method with black nail polish and have zero issues.. so I am wondering if this metallic-y bad boy just wasn't affected the same way. Eh. I am still beyond thrilled with the result. Also. I do apologize.. as I was editing these photos, I noticed that my cuticle oil was still.. visible. My fingers have been very dry, and I pick my nails/skin on a normal day, but lately I have been pretty stressed out (many factors.. il

TTDIHALC - Day 17 - Gradient

Hey everyone! Day 17 prompts for gradient nails.. which is great.. because I am kind of obsessed with doing gradients lately, so this was quite the appealing prompt. Oh, and why not some glitttttah on top? Right. This gradient magic happened using: China Glaze White on White Lime Crime Lavendairy OPI Snow Globetrotter Cosmetic Wedge I did two coats of white.. then sponged on white with purple, and tossed on that amazing glitter polish. All in all, easy, and effective! See you all again for day 20!

TTDIHALC - Day 14 - New Technique

Hey everyone! Sorry, I am a couple days late getting my blog post up.. BUT! I did post these on instagram on the 14th.. so technically , not late - gnome sayin'? Anyways. For the new technique prompt, I was stuck.. I looked at millions (ok.. hundreds) of photos, and was like 'did, did, did, did' and was coming up empty-handed. I posted a quick memo on the PAA page on FB asking for help, and I got it. Two came up a few times that I was like 'hmmm'. One was nimbus nails ala The Nailasaurus and the other was shaving cream marble. I had done similar techniques to the nimbus nails, so I really wanted to do the shaving cream nails, but the dude was already low on shaving cream (mental note: buy an extra can to try the shaving cream marble!), so I went with nimbus because acetone and q'tips, I got! For this, I used: China Glaze White on White China Glaze Sunday Funday Essie Bikini So Teeny China Glaze One Track Mind Formula X for Sephora Infatuated

TTDIHALC - Day 11 - Re-Creation

Hey everyone! Just a quick post here.. kind of lost track of time and did not realize it was January 11th! The prompt for today is 're-creation', so I did a re-creation of a look that I posted at some point in 2010. Unfortunately I cannot get to the original post, but it was featured in my 'top looks of 2010' post.. so you can see it HERE . Without any further ado.. I used: OPI Miami Beet China Glaze White on White Orly Liquid Vinyl That is all for today -- see you all again soon!!

TTDIHALC - Day 8 - Animal

Hey everyone! Just a reaaaal quick post here. I forgot to edit and get this post ready for earlier today. Too many things going on. Not enough brain space. The prompt for #nailartjan was 'animal'.. now, I figured I could make some cute animal faces or something, but then I went with the classic leopard print ala Olga-Lovesnails on instagram. Here is my take.. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Essie A Crewed Interest China Glaze Midnight Kiss OPI Rose of Light Orly Liquid Vinyl Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Dotting tool I did two coat of A Crewed Interest, and one coat of Midnight Kiss (on ring fingers), then added dots of opposing colours along the base of my nails.. then, for the gold dots, I added a dot of Rose of Light and a coat of that on both of my ring fingers. Then added some black dotted accents, and voila - fin! That is all for today -- see you all again in a few days!!

TTDIHALC - Day 4 - Sparkles

Hey everyone! For day 4 of this #nailartjan challenge, it calls for sparkles.. and I had the perfect photo for inspiration. Scope THIS PHOTO here by mrslochness on instagram.. go drool, as I have already done. You see why I had to take a stab at this, right?! I wish I would have captured a bit of video for this.. you cannot imagine the amount of sparkly goodness that this mani gives off. Sparkle heaven, really. I feel like I have to get used to my new camera more.. I feel like these photos are not doing this mani justice.. but.. it is the thought that counts, right?! I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat China Glaze Midnight Kiss China Glaze De-Light OPI Comet In The Sky Gelous Advanced Nail Gel Coat Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I started off with a base of gold polish, then painted on my gold glitter polish. Once that dried for a few, I tossed on a coat of Comet In The Sky, then a coat of Gelous followed by some Seche. I used the Gelous to give the g

TTDIHALC - January - Day 2 - Fresh

Hey everyone! When I decided to do this #nailartjan challenge, the very first prompt, I was like 'err.. fresh? wat.' Then I was like 'ok, fresh.. like.. flowers.. so floral print', then I realized I did not want to have floral nails be my first nails of this new year. Nothing against them, I just.. yeah, was not feeling it. Then I was like 'fresh.. like.. so fresh and so clean-clean', yes, I did rap.. err.. speak some Outkast lyrics in my mind. Then it dawned on me 'fresh, like.. squeaky clean.. bubbles.. got it!' I had literally just screen capped an amazing mani photo and this was the perfect time to recreate it. Without further ado, I give you my take on 'fresh' nails. I used THIS PHOTO for my inspiration. They were created by nailaddictart (found on instagram). I absolutely adore these! I think they scream 'fresh'. Freshly painted.. a fresh white.. bubbles.. commme on! Perfecto! I used: G&G Stuck on Blu! Chi
