Let's Play A Blood Game

Hmm.. No, I swear I am not some sort of sick weirdo.. The title is a play on two things.. One will be explained in this post.. The other I want to see if anyone can figure it out.. Leave me a comment if you think you know what the other 'thing' with the title is!! So, as I said yesteryear, I was extremely excited that my idea has been used for PHD's Challenge , naturally I had to get my entry done! Looking back, there are a few things I would have done differently, but in a way I am glad I went with the method I did.. TBH when you're looking at these bad boys in real life, they look pretty awesome.. I tried to capture that awesomeness in photos, but sometimes it just gets lost in translation! Oh hello 'Blood Game' reference numbero uno! The book cover I chose is Iris Johansen's Blood Game. The whole time I was reading this book (small book, but it was horrible, took me forever to finish!) I kept thinking about how the spider web looked like CG OMG and

Clown Pants

Now, I am not saying that the mani I am about to post actually looks exactly like clown pants.. But it is all I could think of. Plus, for some unknown reason, I decided that watching 'IT' at 1:00am was a good idea. Especially when I am terrified of clowns.. and dolls.. Well, actually, dolls just creep me out.. (side story: I was working a managing shift the other night and a few ladies were waiting for another lady.. But she wouldn't answer her phone or her door.. So I went up to her room, knocked, no answer.. Had to use my keys to get in.. I am happy to report that no one was home (glad she wasn't injured, etc) BUT! Her room was filled with dolls.. Like.. Hundreds of creepster dolls watching my every move. That is nightmare material right there!!) Oh!! And I am extremely excited for the PHD challenge this week!! I actually submitted the idea and she used it (: suuuuuper rad! You should probably just check it out.. by clicking on PHD of course (: I am currently w

When Lightning Strikes

It is sometimes really unimpressive.. Sort of like the look I am about to post. I saw this on a Sophy Robson post and I have been wanting to try it out forEVER! I decided to finally give it a go yesterday. I don't necessarily hate it, but I don't really like what I did either. I was really tempted to take it all off and do something different.. But.. Whatever. I decided to give it a day or two on my nails. I have a bunch of cleaning to do tomorrow, so it can come off at that point in time. PLUS, when I was scoping out her website, I saw something extremely amazing that I want to do now.. And it is really simple.. So you will probably get three posts out of me this week - hooray! I also apologize about the somber post from yesterday. I just really felt the need to type out that experience. I am just stressed from that and something else that is going on in my life. A HUGE change. Should be interesting (: Anyways! On to the nailage! See that terribad lightning bolt.. It

Stormy With A Chance Of Polka Dots

Now, before I get into my sob story of a post, I just want to say a ginormous HELLO!!!!!! to all the new followers. I go to bed with 80 some and return to 95! 95? Seriously?! I cannot believe it. I was seriously pumped when I first started (it has been over a year now) and had 1 person following me - it made it all worth it to me. I want all of you to know that I cherish your taking a look at my blog and liking it enough to stay on board.. Also, I have been receiving comments on old posts (I try to address all comments on previous entries on the next entry.. I may have to look in to answering comments no matter when they show up.. anyways..) so, for those comments on 'older' posts, I appreciate your comments and look and smile at each and every one! You're all dolls. Thank you! Now on to my story then a quick glance my nails.. I will apologize in advance. I worked two shifts before I photographed the nails. My weekend was busy with work, errands, going to the casino and b

Analogous Nails

Polish Hoarder Disorder (PHD) posted up the Analogous Color Challenge , so of course I had to accept it! (It was extremely difficult to not add a 'u' to colour) And of course I chose the Yellow, Green-Yellow and Green spectrum. I am not sure whether I have mentioned it before or not, but I work at a retirement home (as well as my sister) and the residents always enjoy seeing what we have done with our nails. There is one table of ladies in particular that always give input and I think once they started making a big fuss about our nails, everyone else has to grab our hands to see them. Sometimes it makes serving take longer, but I don't mind. Sometimes they even give me ideas. Now, why am I giving you this background information you ask? Well, yesterday while I was serving, the ladies at aforementioned table of course all had to get a closer look. Then one of the ladies, really loudly, said: 'those green nails are hideous!'. Now, usually she isn't so blunt

Peachy Pink

I finally got around to using my CG Peachy Keen polish.. It has been sitting in my untried drawer for a few moments in time.. I started off by painting my nails with it and just figured I would decide what to do after painting it on.. And omigosh! What a colour!! I didn't think it would be so.. bright? I figured it would be a touch more brilliant than CG II , but it is totally different! I actually kind of love this polish.. Once it was dry-ish (I am not a patient person when it comes to drying time on polish), I decided try and gradient pinks.. I used this Essence gem that I got in the Elfster Secret Santa exchange.. And I notice it when I look at my nails, but it was very faint, so instead of work on the gradient effect, I just grabbed a sponge and sponged on OPI Elephantastic Pink . I actually really enjoy this subtle yet in-yo-face look! It is perfect for summer.. Now if we could only begin summer here.. Now a question.. I do believe I have reached a plateau with my cut

Bling Challenge Entry

Hello everyone! I made it home safely.. And, while I had an amazing weekend at the lake, I am always glad to return home. I passed out last night before 11 and didn't wake up til noon - and I'm not really one for sleeping! Insanity! I think it was because I got too much sun yesterday. We went for a little walk (maybe 20 mins yesterday) around another part of the lake (with ice cream, yay!) and I got burnt. Silly albino-esque skin tone!! I hope everyone had an amazing weekend as well! Speaking of being away.. I leave at 66 followers and return to 76? For serious?! Awesome! Welcome to all the new comers (: I hope I don't bore you to death! I was thinking of having a giveaway at 88 (fav number) but everyone 'snuck' up on me! We'll see, I will have to start compiling stuff soon!! I decided to be a part of Polish Hoarder Disorder's Bling challenge. I was pretty pumped about my entry! I loved every entry.. I went extreme and made a look that I would actua

Here I Go Again

On my own!! Going down the only road I've ever known.. Like a drifter I was born to walk alone.. But I've made up my mind.. I ain't wasting no more time!! Umm.. Sorry.. This song is by Whitesnake and I seriously have had this song on repeat in my brain. I have been singing it like crazy too.. Last night while gaming I was singing it as well.. My brother had his mic on.. So the 'boys' laughed at me.. Good times!! Sorry if I go off track a smidge in this post.. I had blood taken about an hour ago.. And I'm jittery from it! Sadly I have problematic veins in my arms aka they do not want people to take blood from them.. So they have to take from my hand.. And then I get the shakes and my hand becomes weak for the day.. And bruises.. Yay! Yesterday I rushed through doing my nails because I was going to go out for supper and then shop for supplies with my friend before our weekend escape (T - 5 hours! Woo!) BUT! Thinking back, it was waaay better to do them yesterd

Rainbow French

Inspired by Sophy Robson . I have actually been thinking about doing this nail look for awhile - just from glancing at the photo of it.. Then I checked her website/blog last night and saw the tutorial was up! I could have done more justice on this look, but of course I have to try and do my nails before I go out to run errands aka I rushed it! Which isn't totally terribad.. I just need to have it on for today.. Tomorrow for work.. And if it can hold out until Thursday evening, I will be pleased! I don't have too much luck with longevity of 'French' manicures though.. The one thing I do really like about it? It screams SUMMER in your face!! I also think I need a lighter purple shade.. What was used - Rainbow Lineup picture order: Essie Lollipop, CG Breakin', Orly Sol Cabana, CG Lemon Fizz, OPI Green-Wich Village, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, Essie Mesmerize, OPI What's With The Cattitude?, Opi Purple With A Purpose & OPI A Grape Fit!
