Green x Green

Most of the residents at my workplace also try to check out my nails (as well as my sister's nails) to see what we happen to be sporting on them.. There is one group in particular that ALWAYS makes sure to check.. And I happen to know that they HATE when I sport green nail polish.. Which is awful (for them) as green is my favourite colour and I happen to love sporting green nail polish. So.. What did I do? I went green on green. This is two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Grass Slipper , followed by two coats of NYX Enchanted Forest . Oh, and please ignore my middle finger nail.. I had (have) a vicious slash on the side of my finger.. The bandage that I was wearing decided to leave residue behind - that only went away with nail polish remover. Le sigh. These two polish were actually sent to me by two gals involved in my birthday group. I have been meaning to publish a post about it all - but I had been waiting for one other package.. I seriously doubt it will

Saran Wrap Mani

I re-pinned a photo I had found via pinterest (LOVE that site!) and it led me back to this blog post from Jems From Jenny (whom I am now following) - and, I will now say that I freaking LOVE this method. I have a wealth of colour combos swimming through my mind now.. Anyways.. This started off with two coats of.. wait for it.. it has been a lemming of mine for awhile.. kind of a big deal.. any guesses? ILLAMASQUA LOAD! I finallyfinallyfinally got my mitts on a bottle.. And now I know I will have to get another as a spare. I had meant to take a photo of it alone before doing anything else.. But it was late, and I was too focused on Law & Order: SVU to stop automatically working on my nails and snap a photo. I know, I'm kind of mean sometimes (: Ok, so, two coats of Illamasqua Load , then you have to let your base colour dry completely. Then you slap on a layer of another colour.. I chose to use Butter London Trout Pout , then, before it dries (I just went nail by nail f

Skittles Leopard/Cheetah

I found a photo via pinterest of a look that Chalkboardnails had posted up.. I had to do something really similar to it because 1: I am never let down by what she posts and 2: it was too awesome not to do! I am not sure how this will look on some computers.. I'm on probably the most outdated computer I have personally ever used. I mean, headphones are not even being recognized yet - NO SOUND :( but at least I still had Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8 on here.. Heh. My sister and I had to do a minor bit of traveling this week for work, so I took some polish with me and did these  on our first night at the hotel. I am surprised how well nail polish held up.. Mind you, I wasn't doing any housework or dishes.. I guess that really helped! I used: China Glaze Lemon Fizz (thumb), OPI A Roll In The Hague (index), Essie Lolipop (middle), China Glaze Gaga For Green (ring), Essie Mesmerize (pinky), Orly White Out, Orly Liquid Vinyl, and a couple of dotting tools from Born Pretty. I rece

Whomp Whomp

I have known for a little while that the power supply was acting up in "my" computer.. I just figured it would keep running for a bit longer.. But no. It decided to officially die earlier today. Earlier today when I was trying to start it up so I could get some posts put together. I'm not sure how long it will be out of service for.. But, in the mean time, I will see what I can do via this computer that time forgot.. It is so outdated that it scares me. I just figured I would give everyone a heads' up as I might not have a new post for a little bit here - but I'll be back soon, I promise! And back to 399 :( Ahh well, a day or two with 400 was good times (:

Rainbow Leopard Nails

I am a fan of Kelly-Anne of Tiny Tangerines.. And when she posted these up, I bookmarked it for safe keeping. Last night I was scouring through all of my saved links and images.. I was so indecisive, until I saw these again - then I knew exactly what I had to do! I used just a wealth of nail polish.. So, let's get started on the list: China Glaze Sugar High, China Glaze Heli-Yum, China Glaze Breakin', Essie Orange, It's Obvious!, China Glaze Lemon Fizz, BYS Yellow Sunshine, China Glaze Gaga For Green, Butter London British Racing Green, OPI What's With The Cattitude?, OPI No Room For The Blues, China Glaze Sweet Hook, China Glaze Spontaneous, Essie Shine Of The Times, and Orly Liquid Vinyl. Lots of colours, lots of activity, lots of love! Though I did wreck them while making supper this evening. LAME! But I guess that gives me an excuse to try out something that arrived today (ommmminous!!!) Also.. I'M AT 400 FOLLOWERS! What?! I am so excited! I have to

My Hello Kitty Mani For Stephie

A few months back, while on the P.A.A facebook page, a gal named Stephie had posted something about a birthday group. It sounded rad. I posted something about it sounding like fun, and she offered me to pick a month - just like that I was a part of something, no questions asked. Stephie got a group of 12 people together in no time, and immediately got us all connected and interacting with each other. Now, when I go on to FB on my computer, my 'Dirty Dozen' group is the first thing I go check on. It is weird had quickly you can become attached to a group of people.. Well. Something awful happened yesterday. We were told that Stephie had passed away. I should have known something was off. I had not seen an update from her in a few days - but I knew she was visiting with her sisters, so I figured she was just really busy. It is unbelievable how quickly a life can be taken away. I didn't actually (ok, in real life?) know Stephie, but I felt an instant friendship form wit

Sticks 'n Stones..

May cause me to go in to perma-happy mode? Oh, that isn't how that how thing goes.. Well, it is now that I have Cover Brand Sticks 'n Stones. I actually based my use of this amazing polish off to two looks.. One was based off of Thriszha 's amazing post from a little while back.. and the other bout of inspiration comes from a gal in my birthday group - Tina; she doesn't have a blog yet, but once she does - look out!! See.. Thriszha had really vibrant colours.. And Tina used more pastel-ish colours.. So I kind of met them in the middle? I feel like this is actually kind of amazing. I used a base of Orly White Out , then I did random stripes of colours using: NYC Lexington Yellow (which is a polish I acquired through one of my SnS muses *grin*), OPI What's With The Cattitude? , China Glaze Electric Pineapple , China Glaze Sugar High , and China Glaze Sweet Hook . THEN we have the pièce de résistance, which is Cover Brand Sticks 'n Stones aka my new l
