Dim the Lights.. It's Floral Time!

Hey everyone! Haha.. uhhh.. my post title is killing me right now. My pals and I (my sister in particular) use the 'dim the lights...' line a lot, but originated from 'Road Trip', and it definitely does not end with 'it's floral time', but it is cheeky and I am going with it. We have been having some very strange weather lately - yes, even for the prairies in Canada. We had a dream January (we had days that were above 0.. we had melting in January), which led to some extreme temperature lows in February, but compared to some winters, I almost feel like this was a cakewalk for a winter. And, it is intense how quick the turn around in temperatures have been. -30c on Saturday overnight.. and then up to -2c on Monday.. oh.. ok weather. Let's do this! Because of these 'balmy' temps, I think of spring, and spring makes me think floral.. so.. here are my first set of floral nails for 2015. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat bu

The Blues

Hey everyone! I am positive that I have mentioned at least 8 million times how blue nail polish is my favourite. I feel like it compliments my skin tone the best, or, at the very least, I feel very confident when I sport blue polish. Just on of those 'quirks', I suppose. Anyways. When I came across THESE NAILS by Sensationails4u , I was like 'yup', but immediately slapped some polish on to my nails. I changed it up a smidge because I do not have nail vinyls (plus I probably would not use them correctly and ruin lives) so I free-handed the lines and was not pleased with the lack of crispness. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat China Glaze License & Registration Pls OPI Gargantuan Green Grape (yeah, believe it!) China Glaze White on White Dotting Tool Little Brush Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I want to go on a sort of mini-rant, but not a rant at the same time. One of the first.. oh.. 20 polishes I ever bought was the "original&q

Bubblegum Abstract Canvas

Hey everyone! A pretty easy mani look for today.. I feel like I don't use my 'topper' polishes enough.. because then I feel like I am not really hand painting anything.. but honestly, some of these toppers are just too pretty. Like the one I am about to share with you. For this, I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink Emily de Molly Abstract Canvas Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat A super easy, but really eye catching, and cute, mani. Love. See you all again soon!!

Opal Nails

Hey everyone! I would say a week or two ago, a gal had posted in the nail polish group on facebook about an opal and transitioning that look to nail art. I was like 'oooohhhh.. pretty!' and decided to give it a go. This is what I came up with.. I apologize for the weird colouring in some of the photos.. I was trying to get Shine of the Times to cooperate, but that did not happen - clearly. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat Formula X for Sephora Brazen China Glaze Sweet Hook Barry M Blueberry Formula X for Sephora Unmistakable  Essie Shine of the Times Saran Wrap Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat My method for this was to do a saran wrap approach and toss a flakey topper on it. I loved how these looked when they caught the light - but not when I wanted to capture photos. It looked rad. That is all for today - see you all again soon!

You Are Outta Lime! + Where's My Blanket???

Hey everyone! A few weeks back, I wanted to stop in at a London Drugs on our (the dude and I) way to grocery shopping as they had those large storage bins on at a really good price. We went. I got a bin. And 2 on sale polish. After we got home, I had them sitting together on my desk, and was like 'hey, these work together!' and so I made it happen. Please excuse the smudge. I decided to stake the photos shortly after painting.. and I always fumbled my camera. I decided to go with a smudge instead of dropping my camera. I think it went really well for me! I loved both of these polish right off the bat. The green is great - it took 2 coats to make me happy, but that is kind of what I expect from polish, period. Then the topper.. how fun!! Different sized black matte glitter and then some random orange and yellow bits? Uhh, yes, thanks. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI You Are Outta Lime! OPI Where's My Blanket??? Secret Peri-Wink-Le, Splattered

Hey everyone! Today I bring you some nails inspired by YoungWildandPolished - and I am OBSESSED with these nails. Splatter nails and dots? Yes, please. There is just something about dots and splatter nails mixed together that says 'I am very put together, but I am also a touch crazy'. Love this combo. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat China Glaze White on White China Glaze Secret Peri-Wink-Le Orly Liquid Vinyl Straw Dotting Tool Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat Both splatter and dots are very easy to do.. just with splatter nails, make sure you have a good area to work with and are prepared for some clean-up.. unless you have that really rad latex stuff for around your nails. Love these nails! See you all again soon.

Little Dots

Hey everyone! This will be the last nail post for awhile... where my nails are longer. Heh. I had another low break on my left thumb nail, and was like 'eff this, you're all going!' and just clipped them all down. Which some would think is really upsetting, but I quite like having shorter nails. Small bonus for moi! Anyways. I was at London Drugs the one evening, perusing their nail polish, and they had a wealth of OPI polish marked down.. and one in particular caught my one - it was one in the Coca Cola collection that I had wanted, I just never got my mitts on it. That night, I did. And then this mani happened. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI Sorry I'm Fizzy Today Sally Hansen Pacific Blue Dotting Tool Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I love this peachy-pink and blue combo! With a smattering of dots? Perfecto! See you all again soon with another post!

Valentine's Day Nails - 2015 - Set 1

Hey everyone! Sorry I have not posted in a bit.. I was sort of waiting to see if a February nail art challenge would be posted up.. and then I had a few posts just waiting.. and finally I was like 'edit those photos and get some posts going' - so, I shall. I am going to hopefully do another set or 2 of Valentine's Day nails. I have approximately 10 ideas jotted down in a notebook, but I don't think I will complete that many. I figure at least another 1 or 2. Mayhaps 3. I am not a huge celebrator of Valentine's Day.. like.. not couple-y things. My dude and I met 2 years ago on Valentine's Day.. and have mostly been together since.. so I guess that is cool? I just like to either do absolutely nothing, or hang out/go out with friends - which is what the plan is for this year. What is your Valentine's Day plans? Let me know in the comments! So, for those of you going out, or even just staying in, but want fun nails - maybe you can gather some inspiration
