Countdown To Halloween: HALLOWEEN!

Heeeeey everyone! It is finally herrrrre! YAY! Halloween - Happy Halloween to anyone reading this! Today I share with you the nails I will be sporting for this tremendous day.. they are a take on nails I did in 2012.. and my most popular re-pin via pinterest.. You can scope those HERE . I actually ended up redoing 4 nails on my 'photo hand' because they just were not.. grotesque enough for my liking. I was cool with my pinky.. but the others needed.. more. I also decided to skip top coat on the go over.. except for on the bloody wounds.. they needed that glossy, or in this case, oozy look. These nails make my twisted heart smile. Enjoy? I used: FxFS Flashy FxFS Dark Matter Color Club Nomadic In Nude Color Club Red-ical Gypsy China Glaze Trendsetter China Glaze Mahogany Magic ...and my finger. Ugh. So good! So pleased! Oh, and this is my "look" for Halloween. I based it off of THIS youtube video. This was my trail run. I know the

Countdown To Halloween: 1 Day

Hey everyone! Only a few, ok, a couple more hours until we are officially on my favourite day of the year: Halloween. I have never been quite sure what it is about this particular day, but it is just magical to me. I mean, I could happily do Halloween-y things all day, errrrrday, but.. ehh.. why not have one day to glorify them? I am getting off topic. Before I do the.. uhhh.. gross nails I want to sport for Halloween, I figured why not sport cheeky and fun nails? So, I did. Cuteness overload. Well, as cute as spiders (crabs?) can be! I did this mani based off of THIS photo.. and hers are extremely cute.. and more spidery.. Some of mine are pretty derpy, buuut.. I surprisingly got a wealth of compliments on these. Hey, I will take it! I used: Zoya Arizona FxFS Dark Matter FxFS White Matter That is all for today.. see you again in a few hours - I will be sharing my Halloween nails for 2014!

Countdown To Halloween: 2 Days

Hey everyone! Today is another post based off of a photo my sister sent to me. This time.. eyes! You know.. the creepy eyes that stare at you in the dark of night. Did I set up good enough imagery for you? Perfect! Shall we continue? THIS is the photo I based this look off of - I scoped the watermark, but could not find a direct site, but still wanted to share the photo! I added two extra colours for eyes.. because.. let's just make it as creepy as possible! Ohh hoo!! Sooo fun! Honestly, I wish I had some glow in the dark polish.. could you imagine this look featuring glow in the dark polish?? Be still my heart. I used: FxFS Dark Matter Zoya Arizona FxFS Flashy CG White On White CG Lemon Fizz I just love how these turned out! If I didn't already have a different idea for my own personal nails for Halloween, I would happily sport these. See you again tomorrow!!

Countdown To Halloween: 3 Days

Hey everyone! Yesterday was a go at a photo my sister sent me, and today, and tomorrow, will also be an ode to the photos she sent me. The mani for today is featuring mummies! Awe yeah! I have seen many, many looks for mummy nails throughout the years, but I am fairly positive I have never tried them out.. which is why it was about time to do so! I have seen some pretty neat concepts, even water marbling the base, etc, but I went with a simple nude base, some white connected lines.. and fun eyes. This is one of those manis where once you have the base down, just have fun - do whatever you like - you honestly will not mess it up. I coped some of the eye-age of the photo my sister sent me, and then did a few on my own - I liked the eyes from the photo she sent me because they reminded me of glasses, and as someone that is a glasses wearer, well, I had to! I used: OPI You're So Vain-illa CG White On White FxFS Dark Matter FxFS Flashy I honestly quite like how ch

Countdown To Halloween: 4 Days

Hey everyone!! Soooo.. the post for today is another one that I was going to redo, but then I decided that it isn't that I don't like the outcome, I just don't like that at the time I was sick and had to blow my nose.. and my nails were not quite dry.. BUT.. I also don't mind showing you when mistakes happen - this is my real life. As I have mentioned many, many times in previous posts - I have an awesome sister and friends who constantly send me rad photos of manis they want me to try - my sister sent me a wealth of photos with manis that I should try to recreate for Halloween. This is one of them. Bloody fingerprints. Looking back on the whole thing meow, there are a few things.. ok, one thing for sure I would want to try differently.. and that is a. either using a different colour of red, or b. using acrylic paint instead of nail polish. Things to take note of for next year (for myself), or for you right now, if you want to give this a go. Also. Maybe make s

Countdown To Halloween: 5 Days

Hey everyone! I meant to have this post up muchos earlier today.. but then I was looking it over.. I just wasn't overly thrilled with the nails. So, I decided to watch a random horror flick via netflix. Near the end of this sad horror flick, I was looking beyond the characters at the wallpaper behind them. And it hit me: the bloody wallpaper look needed cheery wallpaper with blood splatters, duh! Here is what I used: FxFS Infatuated FxFS Brazen FxFS Unmistakable  FxFS White Matter m73 FxFS Flashy Straw I have to say, I did love my other Bloody Wallpaper look (see it HERE ), but this.. this is more disturbing in my eyes.. because it seems like it should be so cheery, and then oh hey, blood! I think my tip for anyone wanting to do Halloween nails, but doesn't really know what to do, or doesn't have a wealth of time on their hands.. grab a straw, grab some red polish or paint, and go to town - even over your existing mani.. Blood splatter makes anything s

Countdown To Halloween: 6 Days

Hey everyone! Welcome to my own little mini-series.. Countdown To Halloween! I am going to be posting a Halloween-esque nail look everyday right up to Halloween.. mostly because I want to honour my favourite time of year, but also to give any of you some inspiration for nail art that you could potentially rock for Halloween! To allow this countdown to commence, I decided to do something with the image plate that Nail Polish Canada sent to me. For the past year, one of the reps there has been sending me rad seasonal/holiday BM plates, and I never really use them. I love the whole deal with stamping, but I am horrid at it, so I avoid it as much as possible. But, when I was forming this series idea, I figured why not put that gem plate to use?! So, here goes. The plate has 6 images, and sadly, I only have 5 fingers on my "photographing hand", so you get 5/6. I started my nails off with a really amaaaazing ombre using FxFS Flashy and China Glaze Lubu Heels. I then u

Multicoloured Leopard Print

Hey everyone.. long time, no post - I know. Fail. I honestly think the 31 Day Challenge wore me right out. That, and life. How about a mix of both? Yeah, let's go with that! I am bringing you some nail art today that I did.. two sleeps ago! I got muchos compliments on them, and was even told that jamberry has nail wraps just like this. I was looking around my room the other night, and saw my little bins that I keep brassieres and scarves in (not mixed.. separate, of course) and I had done a look based off of those bins many moons ago (you can scope HERE ) and figured I would do it again.. because.. it would look fun! I was correct. I used: China Glaze White On White China Glaze Lemon Fizz FxFS Radioactive OPI Can't Find My Czechbook FxFS Eureka FxFS Brazen FxFS Dark Matter Dotting Tool This honestly took 5 minutes to do, but it looks rad, and makes me happy! That is all for today.. I will be back with some posts starting on up on Saturday and leading all

31DC2014 - Day 31 - Honour Nails You Love

Hey everyone! I MADE IT! -Deep, collective, amazing sigh- So happy. So fun. Sort of stressful? Anyways! I am going to save a reflective post for tomorrow.. not today! One more post.. honour nails you love. Easy. These nails have gorgeous colours, and polka dots. And.. they are matte.. weird, for me, but these are sososososo lovely! Scope them HERE. I used: Color Club High Society OPI My Vampire Is Buff China Glaze Highlight Of My Summer China Glaze Bottoms Up Essie Matte About You I do apologize for the tip wear.. one day of work just destroys mattified nails, apparently. Who knew?! I wish I had used a slightly light shade for the base, but hey - you win some, you lose some, and this is mostly a win. So pretty! Well, see you all tomorrow (hopefully) for a nice reflective post. Huge round of applause to all those that gave the 31 Day Challenge a go for 2014. You're all amazing!
