Dotticure Featuring Baker Street

Hey there! This mani was based completely on a drool-worthy photo from www. polishedprescription.com - and I couldn't be happier to recreate it using one of my hands down tops polish: Nails Inc Baker Street. I received so many comments (compliments?) on this gem look. I also had two ladies at the clinic I work at, ask me if they were jamberry.. I had no idea what that meant.. must-look-up.. ahh, nail wraps. Awe, well, that was nice of them. That is what I assumed. Then, I had a bunch ask if they were acrylic, where I got them done, etc. When the various ladies found out they were my own nails, and that I did them myself, and no, they weren't stickers - they were astonished. I love those looks. How can something so simple evoke so many feels? Oh, right, because the colours are gorgeous together. Duh. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat (side note: I'm sorry baby, I will never stray from your exquisite base coat'ing skills again!!) Nails Inc Ba

This Reminds Me Of My Best Friend

Hey everyone! I am not sure if I am just a really strange person.. I mean, ok, I know I am - but maybe this has happened to someone else: does your mani ever remind you of a person in your life? or just a person in general? This particular mani happened to remind me of my best friend. I still have not pinpointed as to why I felt this way.. buuut.. it happened! Anyways. The best of this whole situation.. when I sent her a text to tell her, she wasn't like 'ew, weirdo' or 'freak' or any other strange label.. though I would have accept them as compliments, but I digress.. RIGHT! Ok, no, she said 'that is so endearing'. Ah. She gets me! And this is why I have loved her since she first spoke to me in kindergarten (I was the new kid in class..) - and we have been talking ever since. Man. Gord, if you're reading this: you're the bee's knees, and the cat's pajamas! I just adore this combo. I used: G&G Stuck on Blu! Base Coat Ill

Matte Black, Gold, and Leopard

Hey everyone! One of the many, many things I adore about my sister is her sending me screenshots of nails I should do - especially when she is working night shifts.. I wake up to random texts and then random images. Real day makers! She sent me an image the other week.. and I was like 'hey.. yeah.. I rarely do matte nails - why not?!' and I was not disappointed! I followed the watermark to the facebook page of Tweetii Sweetii - and found some rad gems along the way! A very talented gal - go check out her FB page HERE And this is my take. I kind of really like the concept.. minus the fact that I could not make a straight line to save my life. BUT! Besides that, I quite enjoy looking at these beauts! Super Bright Leopard

Hey everyone! Today I bring you a simple, yet super effective, leopard mani. I absolutely loved this - minus 1 little, baby thing: I had a chip on my index nail.. after 1 day of wear.. and it just sort of flaked off. I am currently testing out a new base and top coat.. and.. this was not the start I was expecting. Hopefully the next go will be better! Also, these nails, though I was super jazzed about them - so many people thought that my nails were fake, that they were stickers, or that there was no way possible that I did them myself. Sigh. You cannot win them all. Yes, these are my real nails, no stickers, or stamping, I did them with a dotting tool and a pencil! Whatever. Still a huge fan of them! Actually, I suppose I should take all of that as compliments, but when you hear it so often, it kind of drags on your soul a wee bit. Rambling. Sorry! Atlantis Splatter Nails

Hey everyone! The other day, whilst perusing pinterest, I stumbled upon a photo of splatter nails done by Chalkboard Nails . While I was starring at the little photo, I was like 'a sparkly based splatter nail! Great idea!' then I went to the post, and here I was thinking it was sparkly China Glaze Atlantis as the base.. nah, it was not.. BUT! It definitely put the idea in my head to use Atlantis as a base for a splatter nail.. and so it was. Honestly, at first, I hated them.. I felt that the colours didn't pop enough, or maybe I should have used a lighter coloured sparkly base.. just blah feels. Then.. after 2 days of wearing them and allowing the sun to catch them, yeah, I like them! I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat China Glaze Atlantis China Glaze Spontaneous China Glaze Liquid Leather China Glaze Midnight Kiss A Straw Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat I also inadvertently used all China Glaze polish.. rad! I love China Glaze, and it sho

Pastel, Dots + Flowers

Hey everyone! I went seeking advice via my FB page the other day aka a week or two ago (yikes!) and asked for suggestions. A local pal suggested spring nails, as in pastels and flowers as we started to see spring-ish weather at the time.. then it snowed for a few more days.. anyways, that is besides the point. I took her suggestion and did pastel nails, dots, and then flowers - I used a different technique this time.. not sure if I am totally jazzed about the results - I think I will want to tweak that method a touch or three. I used: China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat OPI What's With The Cattitude? I'm Truly Sorry, But I Mustache

Hey everyone! About one month ago I was contacted by a rep from Born Pretty asking if I would like to pick a couple of items for review. Um, duh, yes! I love Born Pretty nail goodies! It also worked out perfectly because I have desperately wanted to try nail decals again (I say again because I remember nail decals as a kid.. and how rad they were - so they can only be more rad as an adult.. that is how things work.. right??) Last week, my goodies arrived - and it was time to play! I was suuuuuper excited about all items, but one in particular screamed out to me, that, and my sister requested I sport these on my nails for her birthday. Did & done! I also really wanted to try out the dry brush technique ala Chalkboard Nails (minus the distressed black polish activity) What I did first was paint my nails a base colour, and in this case, it was white (Formula X for Sephora white Matter), then I went in with various polish using the dry brush technique (you basically bru
